Members of the printing, paper and publishing industries raised 24,000 for charity at the annual St George's Day lunch on 23 April.

This takes the total raised by the St George's Day Luncheon Club to more than 100,000 since the first event was first held in 1997.

Around 440 people attended the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, lunch taking part in a quiz, auction and raffle, drawn by Amanda Redman and Ray Winstone.

Sports presenter Des Lynam presented cheques to those members of the industry who had taken part in the London Marathon the previous Sunday, including Cooper Clegg managing director Ian Cooper. PrintWeek editor Lauretta Roberts accepted a donation to Scope on behalf of the PrintWeek marathon team.

Event organiser and one of the founders of the Luncheon Club Peter Howell praised the "spirit and generosity" of those who attended.
