The guillotine, which was debuted at Drupa by its German manufacturer Ideal and UK distributor Duplo, received great feedback from customers at the show, according to Duplo commercial marketing manager Tony Lock.
One southeast customer already placed an order for the guillotine on-stand at London Calling Rocks, which took place at London's 02 earlier this month.
He said: "The machine is incredible, it’s completely changed the operating technique."
Operators press the clamp halfway down which activates an autofocus mechanism that enables the machine to automatically clamp the pile.
The latest Duplo launch has replaced the traditional plastic safety guard with an Infra-red system, a feature usually found on much bigger machines.
Duplo marketing manager Marc Legge said: "At this end of the market most guillotines feature a transparent safety guard that has to be lifted and closed between each cut which can be a real drag on production.
"Replacing the plastic guard with an Infra-red system means a typical job can be completed in half the time."
