Unlike traditional UV fount solutions and washes, the firm said the new products, which are commercially available with immediate effect, are suitable for UV, HUV and conventional inks, so there is no need to switch solutions.

This leads to more economical printing as well as the opportunity to streamline the number of pressroom products used in any given printing location, Ultrachem said.

Prima Premier UV fountain solution is an alcohol replacement suitable for alcohol reduction or elimination, while Prima Premier UV Wash is a water-miscible, non-flammable corrosion inhibited product with extra wetting and cleaning additives.

Ultrachem director Janet Brinton said: “We‘ve launched these products because it’s what the market needs, we’ve had a really good reaction to them.”

Also on show are new flexo water-based inks, Fastbond, a clear UV curing adhesive formulated specifically for film-to- board and film-to-film bonding, and the Safe to Touch antimicrobial coating range.
