The firm said its Ultraflex UV Intense flexo ink range is specifically formulated and manufactured to meet the challenges of modern day flexo printing.
These inks, which will be shown by the firm at Labelexpo in Brussels later this month, are suitable for use with a wide variety of substrates and recommended for self-adhesive labels, cartons, pouches and wraparounds. A lightfast version of the inks is also available.
Included in this range are Ultraflex UV LMC low-migration compliant inks for indirect food packaging and Ultraflex UV SL inks, which are specifically for printing on the reverse side of shrink sleeve applications.
Ultrachem director Jan Brinton said: “Ultraflex UV Intense is a new formulation ink system based upon a high-density four colour process set and base colour range.
“These inks are formulated on a mono pigment basis, for maximum colour consistency with the highest possible colour strength. This allows for lower anilox cell volumes to be set and the ink’s unique resin chemistry gives exceptional viscosity, gloss, and adhesion.”
The business has also revised its range of coatings, adhesives and chemistry for UV and water-based flexo use.
This includes updates to the ColorFlex series of water-based and flexo Inks, which consists of four different categories; labels inks, corrugated inks, paper sacks and bags inks and speciality water-based inks.
To complement the inks, a wide range of water-based flexo coatings are available upon request, from standard gloss, satin and matt to more specified end use requirements such as heat resistance, water resistance, soft touch and FDA-approved.
Completing the UV and water-based portfolio is the PrimaFlex Solutions range, which consists of wash-ups, ultrasonic cleaners and additives for flexo applications.
“We have been formulating, testing and developing this extensive portfolio for many years. The addition of the new UltraFlex UV Intense inks will only add to strengthen our offering and define our commitment to the flexo market,” said Brinton.
To support manufacturing and sales of flexo products and keep in line with its continued flexo inks growth, both in the UK and internationally, Ultrachem installed a second fully-automated flexo ink dispenser at its Enfield premises earlier this year.
