According to Xerox, the deal means it can offer a complete solution for companies looking to take on personalised direct mail jobs.
The K515 EasyMailer, in combination with Xerox's technology, allows print companies to create fully personalised envelopes with a matching letter from A3 or A4 sheets automatically. The extra personalisation, the companies claim, can lead to higher response rates.
"It's the start of a bigger, long-term relationship with Xerox," said Tony Michiels, chief marketing officer for Kern.
He also said the duo would be making more announcements about the developing partnership at the upcoming Graph Expo in October in Chicago.
According to Michiels, the software to make Xerox's systems talk to the EasyMailer will only be delivered with products for the European market at present. This is because the software is still being validated for other territories at the Xerox headquarters in the US.
Currently, the K515 EasyMailer works with a range of Xerox digital printing systems, including the iGen3, Nuvera, and DocuTech HLC, as well as with Xerox FreeFlow Print Server and VIPP Pro Publisher workflows.
