The machines have gone into the SLC's Automated Document Factory (ADF) in Glasgow, which was opened on Monday (8 November) by MP for Glasgow, Pollok, Ian Davidson.
The facility will handle its high volume digital mailing and colour printing.
As part of the press deal, two DocuColor 2060s and four DocuPrint 180 roll-fed monochrome digital presses were installed alongside the three iGen3s.
"The SLC's decision to purchase the three iGen3 systems as well as the deployment of other Xerox digital equipment is a great endorsement for our technology," said Xerox UK director of production group Anoush Dowlatshahi-Gordon.
Alongside the Xerox equipment, the SLC has installed Pitney Bowes software and hardware including StreamWeaver and two APS Series inserters.
"We needed to upgrade our site and re-think our print and mail strategy as we were taking on printing on behalf of LEAs as well as upgrading our own printing services," said SLC central document services department manager Rod Daddow.
SLC chief executive Ralph Seymour-Jackson said the ADF was key to providing a cost-effective service to UK taxpayers. The Glasgow facility can handle more than 25m items of incoming and outgoing mail annually.
