Fujifilm will market the Xerox printers alongside its own XMF cross-media workflow, wide-format inkjet and CTP products.
The deal covers a range of Xerox digital presses ranging from light to full production units, including the DocuColor 242/252/260, the DocuColor 5000/7000/8000AP and the iGen3 90 and iGen3 110.
In preparation, Fujifilm has installed a Xerox iGen3 digital press at its Bedford Demonstration Suite and completed a company-wide Xerox training programme.
The company is now able to demonstrate to customers how digital print can be integrated with offset litho print production using Fujifilm XMF workflow and, in particular, how Fujifilm workflow and colour management technologies can add value to digital print production.
Fujifilm director Keith Dalton said the company's strategy was to broaden its offering to the industry in the run-up to Drupa and beyond.
"After the success of a close Fujifilm and Xerox alliance in the Japanese and US markets, the UK is following suit," Dalton said.
"We have spent the past few months gearing up our operation so that we can effectively support our customers' expansion to digital print technologies.
"The Xerox iGen3 and DocuColor engines, combined with the Fujifilm XMF workflow, provide the perfect route to high-quality digital print production."
Fujifilm UK cements alliance with Xerox offerings
Fujifilm UK is to sell Xerox DocuColor and iGen3 digital presses to its traditional print customers in the UK from this month, as part of a wider European alliance between the two companies in the run-up to Drupa 2008.
