Serendipity in launch of new Blackmagic 3

Serendipity Software has launched the latest version of its Blackmagic software at Drupa.

Blackmagic 3 provides a fast and accurate way to create a folded and stitched dummy with its deimpositioning and duplex proofing features.

The Blackmagic 3 software operates from ripped and imposed files, which can include special or spot colour plates.

Blackmagic then checks for any errors in page numbers or page bleeds, or even for text reflow or incorrect fonts or images.

The Serendipity chief executive, Peter Skarpetis, said that the main beauty of the software was in its operating speed.

Skarpetis said large publishing houses and magazine printers are among the current UK customers using the product.

Blackmagic 3 can save time and effort by printing  a complete book in page sequence from the back cover to the front.

This is the case even when confronted with "work and turn" or "sheetwork" impositions.

Signatures for saddlestitched or perfect bound printing can be stored for different collation, folding and binding set ups.

The deimposition signature can be set up to print either single or double pages depending on the printer and paper source.

Serendipity's UK distributor is Positive Focus.
