The investment by the Sutton-based business follows on from the installation of an Océ CS6060 earlier in the year and ties in with the company's policy of keeping its kit fleet up-to-date.
SDC has been printing a variety of jobs on the new machine, ranging from architectural plots to print-for-pay, short-run colour posters.
The printer, which has roots tracing back to 1945, said it had experienced a growing demand for jobs ordered online and expects the KIP 9000 to further increase this.
Manager David Carter said: "We're definitely seeing growth in work ordered over the web and it's something that will continue to pick-up."
The six-staff company, which installed the 9000 following a test period with the machine earlier in the year, has been impressed with its productivity rates.
Carter said: "It has the ability to respond to high demand with no loss of image quality, and with an output of up to 11 A0 or 23 A1 prints per minute, it allows us to give customers a more efficient service."
The KIP 9000 can process full-colour originals to output in greyscale mode using its 600dpi print engine. It also allows for colour originals to be scanned in full colour and copied to a colour inkjet printer.
