BERGA will be manufactured at Sylvamo’s Saillat, France, and Nymolla, Sweden mills, with products from the portfolio available in reel and sheet formats.
The new brand was established to provide a platform for introducing enhancements to the existing product range and to foster alignment between the mills, resulting in a more cohesive and customer-friendly offering, according to Sylvamo.
The business told Printweek that, in the past, it didn’t have an umbrella brand across its printing and converting portfolio, which covers high-performance products across print applications including high-speed inkjet, pre-print, offset, envelope, and scholastic.
The company previously had no alignment between the names of the products produced in Saillat and Nymolla, as Nymolla was previously a Stora Enso mill that was divested to Sylvamo just over two years ago.
For example, its high-speed inkjet grade produced at Saillat was called Jetstar, while Bergajet was produced at Nymolla. These will now have aligned names across both mills, namely BERGA Jet.
Meanwhile, the pre-print grade produced at Saillat was called Preprint E while BergaClassic Preprint was produced at Nymolla. The product produced at both mills will now be called BERGA Preprint, aligning quality across both mills. Similar changes will take place for its offset and scholastic grades and so on.
All phased changes will conclude by the end of 2025.
Sylvamo said the rebrand had “received an incredibly positive response from industry professionals” so far. It added the tagline, ‘Bringing You Better’, reflected BERGA’s commitment to “continuous improvement, world-class quality, seamless delivery as well as community and workforce support”.
The brand was also said to ensure “excellent colour reproduction through
bespoke International Color Consortium (ICC) colour profiles and reliable performance, enabling optimal results in every application”.
Sylvamo has mills in Europe, Latin America, and North America. Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, it employs more than 6,500 staff and its net sales for 2024 were $3.8bn (£2.94bn).
