The installation of the large-format reel-to-reel machine has increased the Suffolk-based company's output of patient information leaflets from 350m to 500m per annum.
It can now print large-format leaflets that are twice the previous size in order to include more text, which is needed to meet legislation and regulatory demands.
Mark Rooney, MY Healthcare divisional sales and marketing director, said: "The investment furthers our long-term strategy of installing leading-edge technology at all our sites across Europe, standardising equipment within our leaflet division."
The press has one four-colour and one two-colour printing tower, and runs at speeds of 300m per minute, with offline makeready for faster production. It replaces the sheetfed presses that were at the 70-staffed site.
MY Healthcare has also extended its premises to 1,000sqm to provide more space and improve workflow efficiency.
The company is part of global group Nampak and produces packaging for the pharmaceutical industry. This includes folding cartons, patient information leaflets, self-adhesive labels and printed foils.
