Latest tenders include new university print framework

Some suppliers were awarded several lots
The University of Sheffield framework is looking to appoint a maximum of seven suppliers

A major new framework agreement from a university is one of several print tenders currently up for grabs via the government’s Find A Tender service.

The University of Sheffield, Print and Creative Services (UoS) and The Print Shop, Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) is looking to work with “innovative and customer-focused” suppliers for the provision of high quality litho sheetfed and digital print (not including wide-format) and related print services in respect of a wide range of products.

It said the contract could include, but is not limited to, brochures, booklets, leaflets, posters, newsletters, and general university stationery.

The university said it is looking to appoint a maximum of seven suppliers. The estimated total value of the four-year contract, excluding VAT, is £1.6m.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 1pm on 18 March 2025. The framework will start on 1 November 2025 and end on 31 October 2029.

More information, including contact details for the buyer, are available through Find A Tender.

Meanwhile, NILGOSC, the administrating body for the Northern Ireland Local Government Pension Scheme, is looking to appoint one supplier for both Lot 1 and Lot 2 for the provision of secure print and mailing services and general print services.

It said each lot will be evaluated and awarded separately, and there is no limit to the number of lots that tenderers may bid for or be awarded. There will be a single supplier for each lot.

With an estimated total value of £313,000 excluding VAT – £177,000 for Lot 1 and £136,000 for Lot 2 – the contract is for 24 months and is an ongoing requirement for NILGOSC, so may be subject to renewal after the current contract expires.

For both lots there are two separate options to extend this contract for a period of up to 12 months on each occasion.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 3pm on 28 February 2025.

Finally, Staffordshire County Council requires the delivery of print services for elections and electoral registration for South Staffordshire District Council (SSDC).

It wants to appoint a single supplier for electoral services’ printing and mailing services for canvassing and elections which SSDC is required to carry out by statute.

With an estimated total value excluding VAT of £250,000, the contract is to cover print products during the contract period in relation to electoral registration, including the annual electoral registration canvass and specified elements of business-as-usual year-round, and rolling registration; and all scheduled and unscheduled elections.

The start date will be 1 June 2025 and the contract will end on 1 May 2030. The initial term of the agreement is for two years until 31 May 2027, with three optional extension periods to 31 May 2028, 31 May 2029, and 31 May 2030 respectively.

For renewals, SSDC said this provision will be a perpetual need of the council and will therefore be procured in the same or similar method. It added that this provision may change depending on the outcome of local government devolution.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 12pm on 7 March 2025.
