XMF PrintCentre enables printers to create single or multiple online portals, from which customers can order items such as brochures, flyers and catalogues.
It can be also be used as a means for customers to add their own artwork to personalised print such as stationery and photobooks and buy them over the internet.
Studio manager Stephen Connor said Wyke Printers had been looking for a suitable web to print programme for a long time. He said he had been impressed by the price and ease of use of XMF PrintCentre’s preflight option.
"We have a very good relationship with Fuji and that product ticked most of the boxes in terms of what we wanted," he added.
"The pre-flight option makes things easier. If the customer gets a quote online for a 24 page book but uploads 48 pages, we need a system that can recognise that and adjust the price," he added.
Connor said the system would be used for most of the company’s digital work and some of its litho work.
"Our bespoke work will still be managed by our staff but over time we’ll migrate a lot of other work online. That frees up our estimation department to look after the more complex work," he added.
He said beta testing the system had been a valuable experience. "We saw it in the early days and wanted to see where we could go with it," he added.
"We’re still meeting with Fujifilm to tell them what we’d like added to the system. For instance we’d like some back office stuff added," he said.Tweet
