Ipex Pre-Media Preview - Star Product: Roland DG Versa-UV LEC 330

Since the launch of its predecessor, the LEC 300, the potential of this machine for proofing has been recognised. However, the problem was the lack of integration with an appropriate proofing RIP. Roland has now addressed that, with the choice of GMG or CGS products to drive the LEC 330. While not cost-effective for straight page proofing the LEC 330 comes into its own for packaging applications where its broad-gamut CMYK can take care of the process colours and some specials for spot-colour simulation. But the real differentiators are the additional white and clear inks, making it perfect for flexible packaging applications. You can also simulate varnish and texture effects, including Braille thanks to the clear varnish, and the ability to build up a significant relief layer.
