Roland to demonstrate new printer flexibility

Roland DG has said its Ipex line-up will showcase the ability of its inkjet printers to add value to a range of applications that go beyond its historic wide-format market.

On show will be the VersaUV LEC-330 a UV-cured printer and cutter that includes white ink and matt and gloss varnish for producing textured and 3D effects.

When combined with third-party proofing RIPs from the likes of GMG and CGS, it has potential as a proofer for packaging with the ability to print, cut and crease coated and uncoated substrates of up to 1.3mm thick.

Roland will also show two wide-format inkjet printers capable of reproducing metallic effects, the VersaCamm VS-640 and the XC-540MT.
