The Versa UV LEC-300 is the world’s first UV inkjet printer-cutter, claims manufacturer Roland DG. The machine prints four colours, plus white and a clear coat, at speeds of up to 5.4m² per hour at 1,440dpi, and supports widths of 182-762mm and banner media weights up to 470gsm. It features an ink-curing unit and dual UV LED lamps and uses Roland’s Eco-UV inks to print on a wide range of substrates including faux leather, imitation crocodile skin, tapestries, foils and film. The cutter works at speeds of 10-600mm per second. The Versa UV LEC-300 comes with Roland’s VersaWorks RIP and also supports Roland Intelligent Pass Control, a three-dimensional printing system, and the Roland Color System.
