HFlex 100p, a 90µm opaque solvent-free cast polyurethane film, is suitable for application onto pre-washed cotton, polyester and Lycra and for the printing of designs onto sportswear, t-shirts and hats.
The company said the water-based film is both solvent- and odour-free, because it has no volatile organic compounds and backed with a 100µm matt clear PET self-adhesive liner to make positioning easier.
The firm said the thin, flexible and stretchable face film offers “excellent” cutting and weeding characteristics – even on lettering as small as 3mm or complex designs – and will not tear during weeding or application.
The product, which is Oeko-Tex approved for childrenswear and babies’ clothes, is available with immediate effect in a wide range of colours, including metallics and neons. The firm said more colours are being added on an ongoing basis.
Hexis UK managing director Scott Wilkins said the product also has “a true anti-reflection matt finish”, which is similar to that achieved by traditional screen-printing.
“Application is simple: you simply cut a mirror image of your design and weed after cutting. Then, position your design and use a heat press to transfer the design onto the garment of your choice,” said Wilkins.
The film is said to ensure constant quality and colour stability and to not wrinkle on garments. The finished printed and pressed products can be washed at up to 60°C and ironed at temperatures of up to 160°C.
“The high performance of the product is so much better compared to other products currently available in the market,” said Wilkins.
HFlex 100P is available in full or part rolls and pricing starts from £5.36 per metre (linear) at 500mm-wide and reduces depending on the quantity purchased.
Hexis UK also recently launched the Suptac S5000 Series range of premium polymeric coloured sign vinyl and HX30000 Super Chrome, a new range of cast films for temporary vehicle wrapping applications.
