Archbishop of York visits The Max

The Max Design and Print Company was paid a visit by the Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu and the Bishop of Selby, the Rt Revd Martin Wallace, as part of a series of official visits in the York area.

During the visit the Archbishop oversaw the production of the latest edition of the Diocese of York magazine, The River, which is printed by The Max, while Dr Sentamu and the Rt Revd Martin Wallace were given a guided tour of the business by operations director Tony Brown.

Brown said: "The timing of their visit was perfect as they got to see the magazine being printed. They both made a special effort to meet all of the staff, who I know appreciated them taking the time to visit our company.

Dr Sentamu added: "The Max has printed magazines, yearbooks and leaflets for the Diocese of York for many years, and this was a great opportunity to thank the staff of The Max for all of their help and hard work."

The 30-year-old company, which is now owned by York-based Costcutter Supermarket’s Group, handles all of the printing for Costcutter and its 1,600 national stores, and works with other clients across the UK.
