3,250sqm unit at Rotherham site

Parseq opens new £500,000 secure print facility

The new Parseq facility currently employs 17

Managed service provider Parseq has opened a new secure print facility at its Rotherham site, representing an investment of nearly £500,000 in plant.

The new print facility, set to be staffed by a team of 20 when up to full capacity, is part of a new fulfilment, print and warehouse unit occupying 3,250sqm of the firm’s 9,290sqm Rotherham site.

Currently employing 17, the extensively refurbished unit was fitted in February with two new Canon VarioPrint 6000 Titan black and white presses, Beilomatik bookmakers, a mailing inserter from Bell & Howell and an upcoming Wilstead book finishing line, the facility should increase Parseq’s overall secure print capacity by approximately 30%, according to Craig Naylor-Smith, the company’s CEO.

He said he was excited about how the company was evolving to meet an expanding range of service requirements from its customers: “The printed document remains a vital element in many organisations’ processes, and Parseq supplies millions of secure documents to our customers worldwide.

“We are picking up businesses in this market because more organisations are now looking to outsource print production to reduce their running costs and free up valuable resources and operating space, and because we meet strict print standards for confidential items and offer the highest level of security in our industry to protect documents against fraud.”

All three of Parseq’s UK secure print sites are Cheque Printer Accreditation Scheme (CPAS) accredited, with the company maintaining ISO 27001:2022, BS10008-1:2020 and the Audit Standard for Cheque Printers – Standard 55 among its credentials.

Parseq printed more than half (54%) of the 93 million cheques cashed in the UK in 2024. Alongside cheques, the firm prints paying-in slips, educational certificates, ballot papers and gift vouchers.

The £24m-turnover company entered the secure print market in early 2023 after buying specialist printer Tall Group, retaining the company's Runcorn and Lisburn print sites. The company's Hellaby, Rotherham headquarters employs 180 staff overall.
