Agfa has introduced another addition to its Anapurna Ciervo family; the Ciervo H2050 model.

The new 2.05m printer joins the 2.5m Ciervo H2500 model, which was unveiled earlier this year, and the 3.2m Ciervo H3200, which was launched last year.

Agfa said the Ciervo H2500 and Ciervo H2050 featured advanced optional media feed guides for precise and reliable corrugated printing, making them suitable for packaging and POS applications.

Further specifications for the new H2050 model have not yet been shared.

The Ciervo H2500 is being introduced to the North American market at ISA International Sign Expo in Las Vegas from 23-25 April.

Agfa said that with a redesigned print engine and shuttle, the six-colour plus white Ciervo H2500 achieved productivity levels up to 59sqm/hr in Production Mode, and delivered vibrant, high-quality results on applications ranging from banners and vinyl to corrugated cardboard and coated textiles.

Its continuous board-feeding capability allowed for efficient printing on up to four boards simultaneously.

Christine Polzin, head of sales North America, Digital Printing Solutions at Agfa, said: “Just like all Agfa’s ‘beastly’ inkjet presses, the Anapurna Ciervo H2500 is powerful by nature, combining a compact footprint with unparalleled performance and agility.

“These two new additions to the Ciervo family are yet another testament to Agfa’s commitment to continuous innovation and to providing a beast for every need.”

Agfa said all three Ciervo models have been engineered to work long hours, thanks to their robust build and enhanced media handling capabilities.

Greenguard Gold-certified inks were said to ensure vibrant colours with minimal environmental impact, while Agfa’s Thin Ink Layer technology minimised ink consumption without compromising quality.

Last month, Agfa said it would unveil three new products at the upcoming Fespa Global Print Expo, taking place from 6-9 May at Messe Berlin. Further details about the upcoming launches are still under wraps although Agfa told Printweek that the business would have a Ciervo H2500 model on its Fespa stand.
