The German company’s PVC-free UVPrint wallpaper 170 uses fleece instead of PVC and will be available from June in 1.6m rolls to cater for printers which can take two 1.6m rolls at once.
Head of production development Richard Bachora said the target market was wallpapers produced using UV inks. “At €2.65 (£1.90) per sqm it’s good value,” he added.
The company also has a UVTex artist light black back product which it said was good for high contrast displays.
Solvoprint Easy Dot Whiteout has high opacity and is joined by Solvoprint Easy Dot Transparent, which has a clearer finish than the company’s other clear substrate Solvoprint Easy Dot 100 Clear.
Another new product at Fespa is Print N Walk – a floor substrate that needs no lamination and can go straight from printer to floor.
“We say it’s a three-month application but in tests even after five months it’s very good. If the customer really follows all the advice we give them in the application, it sticks really well. We’re really proud of this product, it’s going to be a revelation.” Print N Walk costs €6.95 (£5) a sq m.
In addition Neschen also launched Gudy831 thick adhesive.
The company filed for a Chapter 11-style self-administered insolvency proceedings last month after struggling with debt repayments. The three month process allows a company to undergo a formal restructuring and insolvency process through the court system.
Corporate marketing director Germany Lars Woltermann said: “We’re having quite difficult times but we have plenty of new products. We are alive. We are here and we have the feeling that we are much stronger than last year. We have some financial difficulties right now but at the end of the day we’re not looking like a dead man, we’re looking.”
