The PVC-free substrate is available in widths up to 1.6m, and in three textured and two smooth surfaces at a standard thickness of 300 microns, with parts of the ‘texture’ running to 500 microns thick.
The German manufacturer said that the product had the wash and brush resistance of vinyl wallpapers at a similar price point.
New business development manager Dirk Peereboom said: “People prefer PVC-free and we are seeing a double-digit growth for printed wallpaper.
“We started wall coverings 10 years ago, and six or seven years ago we started to launch a line of PVC-free products but they were only smooth. We have now developed the technology to make them textured.”
Head of corporate marketing Lars Woltermann added: “We see demand from our customers who are working for big brands and big retailers. Brand managers are asking for sustainability.
“If you visit Starbucks, for example, you won’t find any interior décor that doesn’t fit their sustainability standards. It’s immensely important, the clients are actively asking for that.”
Neschen is also showing its own new laminator the Holtam 1650 TH, which can laminate at 12m per minute.
Woltermann said: “We are recognised as the coating specialist in the market worldwide. It makes sense to also offer the suitable hardware.”
As well as new products, Neschen is also displaying its Easy Dot range.
