The sale and transfer of the brand, formerly owned by Paperlinx subsidiary Robert Horne Group, was completed on 16 October 2015, and applies to the UK and the whole of the EU, except Germany, where Paperlinx was still trading until this week.
The Revive 100 White Silk, Revive 50 White Silk, Revive 100 White Offset, Revive 100 Natural Offset and Revive 75 Matt were the same stock as the paper sold by Denmaur under the Amadeus Recycled brand. In addition Paperlinx sold Revive 100 Office and Business papers.
Now Denmaur intends to combine the two brands, manufactured by the Burgo Group in Italy and Austrian mill Lenzing Papier, to create Amadeus Revive. The actual product will remain the same.
The Sittingbourne, Kent-based paper merchant, has been selling the paper since 2010, following Paperlinx’ decision to switch to an alternative supplier. Subsequently Paperlinx decided to re-stock the Burgo and Lenzing products. Denmaur bought the remainder of Paperlinx UK's surplus Revive stock from its administrator, Deloitte, following the fall of most of that company's UK operations into administration in April.
Denmaur Independent Papers’ managing director Mike Gee said: “Amadeus Revive is a first-class portfolio of recycled paper products and the Denmaur team is proud that they are now able to exclusively supply this range in the UK and indeed, the majority of Europe.”
The Amadeus Revive range will continue to be supplied with a carbon Neutral or Balanced arrangement, which has and will continue to be provided free of charge to buyers. Denmaur said it has extensive UK stocks and there is an opportunity for bespoke orders from the manufacturing mills.
Denmaur marketing director Peter Sommerville said: “What’s very important for us is to give a clear message that it’s available. What we didn’t want was confusion in the market. We want people to know that there is continuity. Revive is a well-known brand and we completely respect that. We’re going to look after it with a safe pair of hands.
“There are exciting plans ahead for further investment into the Amadeus Revive range – and we look forward to bringing these to the market in 2016.”
Denmaur has 97 staff in six locations in the UK in Alderley Edge, Bristol, Bardon, Leeds, St Albans and Sittingbourne. It had a turnover of £104.8m in 2014.
