The range, which is available from the Wellingborough-based business with immediate effect, includes everything from cylinder jackets, bed plates and steel rule through to nicking chisels, bench presses and shim tapes, the company said.
Technical sales manager for the UK and Europe Howard Mead, who joined the business last year, said: “This new range has been driven by commercial printers who have Heidelberg cylinders in-house that were looking for a reliable product that will speak to the cylinder jacket first time.
“This has been driven by customers who have had issues - particularly in winter with the cold weather - when some of our competitors' creasing matrices would struggle to stick on the cylinder.”
He added: “There’s a definite gap in the market for this because no other creasing matrix manufacturer makes a bespoke creasing matrix for Heidelberg cylinder presses.”
The company has also developed and launched new extra deep locators for its existing XTC, Original and Pink matrix ranges. These are available in a wide range of centred and off-centred sizes.
“The idea of the extra deep locators is to give the user more impact against the cutting plate so that the matrix adheres to the cutting plate first time, every time, in whatever weather or climate conditions,” said Mead.
“They were originally devised for Heidelberg cylinder presses but we’re finding they’ve also got uses across other machines as well.”
C&T Channel Matrix sells and distributes its products to more than 80 countries worldwide. It offers several brands of creasing matrices including Kiss, Corrugate and Jazz.
Earlier this year the business started supplying high-quality cutting and creasing steel rules and also launched both a new type of durable counter material for long-run packaging and a new type of creasing matrix for carton manufacturing.
