Bordeaux's Velvet Jet division will unveil the new technology for direct-to-garment printing at the ITMA textile and clothing show in Milan from 12 to 18 November. Around 100,000 visitors are expected.
The company recently made a strategic commitment to broaden its scope and offer new products for the fashion, home decor and soft signage industries.
Director of marketing Guy Evron said the industry was characterised by complex printing processes involving different types of inks and machinery for different applications.
“Print houses are striving for better and more cost-effective solutions,” he said, adding that Velvet Jet was set up to try and offer the textile industry more versatile capabilities.
The Velvet Jet product would offer a new way for print shops to expand their business opportunities and use the ink to give garment manufacturers more versatility in their printing processes, he said.
“Velvet Jet brings a new and a fresh approach for dealing with the current complexity of digital textile printing,” said Evron.
“Velvet Jet combines experience in ink development with experts from the textile industry in order to meet the industry's needs for mass customisation of digital prints on textiles.
“At the show visitors will experience new inks for textiles, creating a wide range of possibilities for the fashion, apparel, decorative and industrial textile applications.”
