Abbey Marketing Communications in liquidation

Abbey Marketing Communications and connected company Spirit DM have gone into liquidation.

Notices published today (7 February) on The Gazette said liquidators were appointed at Abbey Marketing Communications Limited and Spirit D M Limited on 30 January.

Nedim Ailyan and Ben Stanyon, both of FRP Advisory Trading in Orpington are listed as the joint liquidators for both companies, which operated from an industrial park in Great Dunmow, Essex and shared two common directors in Michele and Andrew Cantwell, according to Companies House records.

According to the company’s website, Abbey Marketing Communications was an “all-encompassing” marketing services company with specific emphasis on the production and processing of plastic card mailed communications. 

Listed services included data processing, laser personalisation and inkjet addressing, specialist finishing, enclosing, and fulfilment.

In total exemption full accounts made up to 31 March 2024, filed at Companies House, Abbey Marketing Communications employed an average of 21 staff – including directors – during the year, the same number as the prior year.

Just over £405,000 was owed by debtors, including nearly £231,000 attributed to trade debtors. The company was owed just under £35,000 by Spirit DM.

Creditor amounts falling due within one year were listed as just shy of £557,000, including just over £153,000 of this attributed to trade creditors.

As of 2018, Abbey Marketing Communications’ turnover was around £2m. Its staffing levels and turnover at the time it went into liquidation were unclear at the time of writing.

Spirit DM offered a wide range of data management, print, finishing, and enclosing services according to its website. The statement of affairs for Spirit DM is currently showing as processing at Companies House.

According to micro company accounts made up to 31 March 2024, the business employed an average of three people during the year, the same number as the prior year.

FRP Advisory had not yet responded to a request for comment at the time of writing while calls made to both companies in liquidation currently go to a message saying “the party you are calling cannot accept calls from this location” before cutting off.
