The Israeli firm said the inks, which are available with immediate effect, are easy to install without printer downtime and include compatible chip and packaging or bulk system bags.
“We’re trying to provide printers with printer specific inks, and this is true for both UV and solvents. Printer specific inks have to be tweaked to be in perfect synergy with the specifications of the printer,” said Bordeaux director of marketing Guy Evron.
“OEM inks are great but this gives users a reasonably priced solution that is exactly the same quality or, in terms of adhesion, sometimes better than the OEM inks.”
Bordeaux has also established a new division called Velvet Jet, which Evron said will enable the business to meet industry needs for digitally printing on textiles.
“One of our main emphases this year and probably next year is to come up with more UV solutions for wide and super wide-format printers. It’s a growing technology, and one that we’re trying to make a change in, in terms of non-OEM inks,” said Evron.
“We’ve recruited some very highly experienced professionals from the textile industry for this and, combined with our 15 years of ink manufacturing experience, we will find new and more versatile solutions for this industry.”
