Graphic arts director Peter Taylor said Xerox now had "just shy of 40" iGen3 installations in the UK, around 75% of which are in graphic arts market with the remainder in the corporate market.
Taylor attributed the recent success to "focus" along with recent enhancements made to the machine. The second-generation iGen3 110 was unveiled earlier this year.
The new model is 10-20% faster, running at 110 impressions per minute, can handle a broader stock range, and prints at a higher quality.
A further benefit will be added in the second half of the year when a UV coater is introduced. It is currently being tested by Field Packaging. "That will make a massive difference," said Taylor.
"[Other digital presses] use a clear toner but this is full UV."
Earlier this month transactional and direct mail house OTM announced it would be moving into digital production with two iGen3s.
