Xerox iGen3 helps ADP become first to gain Guild accreditation

Advantage Digital Print Limited (ADP) has become the UK's first Xerographic printer to meet the Fine Art Trade Guild print standard.

The Dorset-based printer was awarded the title as a result of UKAS-accredited laboratory tests on prints produced on the company's Xerox iGen3.

ADP can now offer artists Guild-branded, digital reproductions of original paintings to artists across the country.

Charles Anderson, director of Advantage Digital Print, said: "We have found a way to provide the art community with a quick and affordable print service while maintaining the superior quality required in this market."

Work submitted by the printer had to meet a raft of standards that covered light fastness, media pH and media weight.

To produce the artwork, the company captures digital images of each piece, which are then colour-corrected and matched to the original piece before being printed on the iGen3.

Anderson added: "Xerox's iGen3 met the strict requirements set by the Fine Art Trade Guild print standards and is clearly the right technology for us to deliver fine art reproduction."
