The four-man printer, supported by director Charles Anderson which bought the digital printing division of the Friary Press in May 2007, has pipped larger printers to the post with the install, which Anderson said would help it break new markets.
"We have already done some personalisation work but we are now aiming to get into transpromo," he said.
"There is a perception that transpromo is only for the bigger boys but we are actively educating local businesses to the benefits."
The £350,000 machine, which was first announced at Drupa before its official launch in Europe last week, is 25-30% more productive than its predecessor, the iGen3, according to Xerox.
Anderson said that the purchase was a result of the company's longstanding relationship with Xerox and the printer replaces an existing iGen3.
As well as investing in an iGen4, ADP has also added XMPie and a Xerox front-end workflow.
The Dorchester-based company specialises in fine art repro prints, as well as marketing for trade publishers and London design agencies.
Last month, the company became the UK's first Xerographic printer to meet the Fine Art Trade Guild print standard.

Advantage Digital Print (ADP) has said it will bring transpromo to smaller businesses as it installs the UK's first Xerox iGen4, just a week after its official European debut.
