The move follows a successful trial period and the inks are now available from Ultrachem with immediate effect.
Ultrachem director Janet Brinton said: “In preparation for this important strategic partnership we have already successfully trialled and supplied Actega water-based flexo inks to a number of corrugated and label printers.
“Based upon the considerable success of these trials we are now in a position to make a significant stock investment in Actega’s market leading portfolio of inks.
“Together with Actega we want to give our customers the quality products they would expect from us, all backed up by an unrivalled level of service and technical support.”
The stocked inks, which include ISEGA-approved products Colorflex, Colorwell, Colorbag and Colorsan, are suitable for corrugated board, industrial paper packaging, flexible plastic packaging and foil-based materials.
An in-house blending and matching service developed jointly with Actega will back up the new range.
Ultrachem, which supplies offset, heatset, coldset and flexo print businesses both in the UK and internationally, recently relocated to a new 2,044sqm site in Enfield to consolidate its operations. The business has also recently started stocking and promoting the Van Son VS range of sheetfed inks.
Established in 1981, the firm has 70 staff and a turnover of around £14m. It specialises in the manufacture of water-based coatings, UV lacquers, UV inks, founts, washes and pre-press chemistry as well as solvent blending and blanket conversion.
