The business invested in the HP machine, which is the manufacturer's first to utilise latex inks, as it would help it reduce the environmental impact of its vehicle wrap printing.
Adrian Rope, managing director of Totally Dynamic, said cutting the impact of its printing operation was the one of the primary reasons behind the spend.
He said: "It represents a massive leap in quality and speed, while using latex inks in production is a great sales tool.
"The really great thing about this fantastic new print system is that there is no extra cost to our customer – and the end product is even better than with older, polluting print methods."
According to Rope, the decision for Totally Dynamic to make a significant investment in the midst of a recession, was one way of successfully tackling green issues such as climate change.
"The HP gives us a unique selling point and for us, we are not going to sit back and let the recession affect us," he added.
The Designjet L65500 can print at speeds of up to 70sqm for outdoor applications and 35sqm for indoor. It offers print resolutions of up to 1,200dpi.
It uses the latex, water-based inks which are odourless and offer high levels of scratch and smudge resistance.
Rope said: "We have always been an environmentally responsible business, but this raises the bar. It demonstrates our commitment to the highest quality products with the lowest possible impact on the environment in which we operate."
