Bombay Offset has taken its first steps into CTP production after its investment in a Viostar FA8 from TechNova. This is the first VioStar FA8 violet CTP in Mumbai supplied by TechNova. VioStar FA8 can produce up to eight-pages on a single laser internal drum device and supports a wide variety of plate sizes.
The Mumbai-based printer will run the platesetter with TechNova plates. Ravindra Shah, the partner at Bombay Offset stated that moving into CTP was "a combination of necessity and technological upgradation."
The 25-year-old company, which produces packaging jobs has a Heidelberg five-colour and a six-colour SM52 and post-press equipment.
Satyanarayana Kommuru, the managing director of Bombay Offset, said: "The customers are becoming increasingly aware of the quality produced by CTP. Film and conventional plates have become outdated and also the quality is not to the mark. TechNova has been helping us a lot and has provided service and technology support."
The CTP unit was inaugurated by Pranav Parikh, CMD of TechNova Imaging Solutions. He said: "I am happy with the installation. Bombay Offset is running a clean press and has even created a "violet setting" for the CTP unit."
