The London-based company, which bought a four-colour KBA 162 in 2006, had held off upgrading its pre-press setup as a result of the recession.
However, Outdoor's hand was forced when Proditec, the firm that supplied it with imagesetter plates, announced earlier this year that it would be discontinuing supply of the plates.
According to production director Jason Nourse, the investment has allowed Outdoor Partners to produce work with "a lot higher resolution".
Turnaround time has also improved. Nourse said: "Because CTP allows you to pick and produce just one section at a time, we are able to get the presses running quicker."
