Traditionally, a 3m-plus signage printer, Super-Wides three Opal Tiara printers have recently started to lag behind demand for wide format jobs, said the firm. Instead of purchasing more Opals, the Manchester-based company chose to go with the ColorPainter, which is sufficiently faster, producing print at 20sqm per hour.
The 2.64m-wide solvent ink-jet printer, distributed in the UK by Colourgen and retailing at around 39,000, was first revealed at last years Fespa exhibition.
It builds on the firm's earlier ColorPainter 64s and was designed to allow the simultaneous printing of two 50in-wide rolls of media.
It also enables double-sided printing for banners and can print on unlined mesh.
Super-Wide managing director Anthony Drogan said the firm chose Print Technologies to provide the machine because the reseller demonstrated an excellent understanding of the business.
