Emel has existed as a bi-monthly for two years, but has been re-launched as a monthly title. Previously printed by Dogan Offset in Turkey, the 10-day turnaround on road delivery and high cost of air transport has led the publisher to move its production to England.
"Turkey wasn't suitable for a monthly title," said Emel's editor Sarah Joseph. "It's a shame because they charge 40% less than UK printers over there. You can produce sheetfed work for the price of web print."
The 112pp title will have an initial print run of around 20,000 copies.
