Emmerdale Stars, published by Scorpio Multimedia, will be on sale in October and has 84pp devoted to the soap. Londons Production Response will handle the magazines repro. Scorpio Multimedia head of business development, Heather Aylott, said that, if successful, the magazine could be released regularly.
Granada Television is also in discussions with the publisher over plans to produce spin-off monthly magazines for Coronation Street.
Aylott said that once the deal to publish the magazines was finalised, the contracts for the 100,000 print runs of both magazines would be put out to tender.
Scorpio Multimedia publishes Cable Guide for Telewest and NTL: guide. It has expanded its remit to include consumer and contract magazines.
