'Dynamic new phase'

Printed.com parent appoints new CEO, founder departs

Nick Green wrote the original business plan for Printed.com

Printed.com founder Nick Green has left the business amid a revamp at its top team.

Parent company The Printed Group appointed Rob Haycock as CEO earlier this month. He joined from outside the industry as COO in December and has worked at a number of private equity backed businesses, most recently as CEO of cycling and leisure distribution business ZyroFisher.

He began his career in corporate finance at KPMG.

Former commercial director Simon Dunn, who has worked at Printed.com for nearly a decade, stepped up to become managing director this month.

Web-to-print firm Printed.com is The Printed Group's main trading brand.

In a statement The Printed Group said the changes marked “an exciting new chapter for The Printed Group, as the company focuses on continuing its strong progress and building momentum for future growth”.

Haycock commented: "We are entering a dynamic new phase at The Printed Group and these leadership transitions align with our vision of positioning the business for long-term success.”

Green originally founded Printed.com in 2011.

He said he had no comment to make at the present time when contacted by Printweek.

The Printed Group, which also includes Ravensworth, posted sales up 6% at £21.02m in its most recent results, for the year ended 31 March 2024.

Pre-tax profits were up from £160,921 to £403,945 on the back of sales growth and “continual control over the costs of the business”.

The firm took on a second production site near its Cramlington HQ in Q4 2023 in anticipation of further growth.

It had also boosted its product range with new items including clothing.

The Printed Group currently employs 190 staff and the firm said it was aiming turnover approaching £27m at the close of its current financial year, ending March 2026.

The majority shareholder in The Printed Group is media entrepreneur Michael Green, who is Nick Green’s uncle.
