The commercial printer has installed an Autobond Compact 74T laminator, a Muller Martini Presto stitching line, an MBO folder and a Heidelberg cutter and creaser.

The investment follows the installation in 2003 of a Heidelberg Speedmaster 74 DI press, the first B2 press at the family firm.

Keith Bristow, Spot On sales director, said: "With outsourcing B2 finishing, we were losing time and productivity. After we bought the press, the finishing had to come in a second phase.

"The biggest plus for us is to keep control of finishing and to offer a one-stop service for our clients. This way we can spot problems as they occur in-house and deal with them."

He added that Spot On, which employs 36 staff, has taken on three extra employees to run the new finishing kit.
