The Spedo 2600 pinless forms cutter, which is expected to be launched in spring, is designed for continuous forms processing and is aimed at direct mail and transactional printers. The cutter removes the need to have dedicated marginal punching down the side of the forms, removing the need for the edges of paper to be trimmed, reducing paper waste.
Hampshire-based Spedo UK manufactures and supplies print-finishing and forms-handling equipment, including forms cutters, folders and trim extraction systems.
The pinless forms cutter, which is expected to be launched in spring, is currently being beta-tested at three UK printers.
Spedo UK general manager Richard Daglish said: "The pinless forms cutter has been designed to take continuous rolls of paper from an unwinder, labelling machine or pinless printer and process it into a cut sheet before feeding it into a finishing device such as a folder or inserter.
"It removes the need to have dedicated marginal punching down the sides of forms, which makes it a more flexible and cost-effective solution.
"Spedo is launching this product to respond to the growing trend we are seeing where printer manufacturers are building machines that mean you don’t have to rely on pins."
List price for the Spedo 2600 pinless cutter was not available at the time of writing.
