It has also announced that its K130 rotary cutting line has been improved thanks to the increased productivity of its K141 drop stacker.
The MK33 cutter has been manufactured by Kern's partner KCIM to process paper weights of 37-200 gsm paper and runs at 240 m/min.
Kern UK sales manager Clive Martin said: "We believe the machine will have a lot of applications. Because it can handle such lightweight paper we see it as ideal for the newspaper industry and also the pharmaceutical leaflet industry."
The machine has just gone into production and is expected to be available by the end of the year, no price is available yet.
Kern's K130 rotary cutter has been improved to include the K141 drop stacker. It can process standard 1-up, 2-up continuous stationery and wide format to 460mm.
Martin said: "There are still a lot of companies printing books economically on a reel and cutting the sheets afterwards. Previously the K130 ran at 160mpm, but the upgrade has improved it significantly, it now runs at 200mpm."
