The company said the continuous forms cutter offers high speeds, versatility, savings and simplistic operation.
Brandon Shoaf, product manager, said the kit can cut up to 72,000 sheets per hour.
He said: "Kern's 172s high speed cutting system has the latest in PC and servo technology that makes it durable and accurate.
"It can process pin-fed or pin-less paper with no mechanical changes necessary."
The kit can be used in-line to feed a high speed inserting system or offline alongside Kern's document finishing on-demand systems.
Kern's primary customer at Print 09 has been MBO, which is also exhibiting the 172 on its stand at the exhibition.
Ryan McManus, Kern marketing communications manager, said the kit uses simple tools that most printers already have, and so they don’t need to buy additional software to use it.
He added the exhibition has got off to a slow start, but said the company was prepared for that.
Traffic has been slow over the weekend, but our diary is full up for the last two days of the show, he said.
He added the company has an international presence, and that there is a global network at Print 09.
Kern has also exhibited its 3500 dual-channel kit, which the company said aims to meet the needs of mailers who need an insertion system which has multiple input capabilities that perform matching applications.
