Friedheim International and equipment supplier VPTS will both act as UK selling agents for Bordon, Hampshire-based manufacturer Spedo’s equipment, as part of a joint venture between the three businesses.
Spedo’s entire range of machinery is now available from Friedheim International, including the 2200, 2400, 2500 High Speed and 2600 Pinless forms cutters, the 9700 Slitter Merger, the 9400 Web Buffer and three stackers; 8200 Descending, 8500 Conveyor and 8100 Conveyor.
Friedheim International national sales manager Robin Brown said the Spedo range complements the existing Hunkeler range that the business also supplies.
“In most direct mail houses or print shops there’s always a small standalone guillotine sheeter so there was always a need for a smaller range that complements the Hunkeler high end range,” said Brown.
“There are always people that want to take a roll of paper or pack-fed paper and finish it offline and this portfolio fits that need.”
He added: “The beauty of Spedo is that they’re a UK manufacturer so for us it’s super because they hold and manufacture everything to do with the cutter at their Hampshire factory so we could drive to the factory to pick up spare parts if we needed them.”
Brown said the Spedo machines range in price from around £20,000 to £30,000, depending on the model and specification.
