Scitex Vision rolls out revamped flatbed presses

Scitex Vision has launched two new large-format flatbed digital presses for the POS and packaging markets, the CORjet Premium and VEEjet+.

The completely automated CORjet Premium is based on the firm's CORjet product but offers improved quality, reliability and productivity.

The new high-speed press features a state-of-the-art drop-on-demand inking system, which uses Aprion technology, and what the firm describes as "a new way of jetting the ink", which it claims produces better solids.

The four-colour Premium, which has an option for six, also boasts an enhanced pre-treatment facility, which, with the new water-based inks formulation  increases the range of rigid substrates from paper and foam boards to polypropylene and PVC that it can print onto.

The 600dpi press handles sheets up to 1.6x3.2m up to 10mm thick and a top speed of 150m2 per hour.

The other launch, the VEEjet+, is the next generation of Scitex Vision's VEEjet. It uses the new specially developed VisionInk UV200 inks.

The UV curable inks offer improved ink adhesion allowing it to print onto a wide range of substrates including semi-rigid plastics.

The 720dpi press also has improved user friendliness via upgraded software and an intuitive graphic user interface (GUI). Pin positioning gives the unit faster and more accurate set-up.

The 36m2 per hour VEEjet+, which prints onto substrates up to 40mm thick and 2x3m in size, will be available in Q1 2005.
