The Norfolk-based screen and digital company has installed the new machine to handle heavier stocks when printing flat sheets while offering ReproArts a larger print area than before – it can now print on a sheet size of 3.05x 2.5m – large enough for one job to be printed while another is being prepared alongside it.
Paul Hill, production director at the 60-year-old business, said the Acuity was "a major investment for the company" and one that will complement its existing equipment offering.
He said: "Combined with its incredible accuracy, there was no hesitation in understanding that this machine was what we needed to achieve even better quality work than we had been offering."
According to Hill, the static flatbed of the Acuity Advance X2 was a requirement of the company allowing for increased accuracy on its flat sheet work.
Another major benefit of the new Acuity is that it allows ReproArts to handle heavier flat stocks up to 78.5kg on its static flatbed, something the company's roll-fed machine would not allow.
He added: "For double-sided work the Acuity is impressively accurate, printing in exactly the right position for our Zund cutting machine to then cut the outlines."
The 14-staff printer produces work such as graphics, banners and displays for a broad range of customers, including blue chips, restaurant chains and car industry clients.
The Acuity Advance X2 has a speed of 22sqm an hour in production mode and down to 15sqm an hour in high-quality mode.
