Jim Reid, the commercial director at Polestar, has left to take up an equivalent role with online print management company Eazyprint.com. He also takes up a position on the companys board.
Reid, who joined Polestar in 1984, is yet another high profile departure from the firm, which has also lost creative director Tim Smith to Httprint.
"Were obviously very pleased to have signing such a big hitter," said Eazyprints chief operating officer Gary Heginbottom. "Jims very well known in the industry."
Eazyprint was set up by Ian Warwick, founder of print management company ICM Resource and is funded by investment partner ci4net.com.
According to Heginbottom, Eazyprint will be Europes first full end-to-end online print management service. But he stressed that the service, which will be rolled out in August, will be modelled on the print buying operation already developed by ICM.
"Well start the service with existing core customers and transfer them onto the web-based print management system," said Heginbottom.
If all goes to plan Eazyprint will add a number of additional functions including digital asset management.
