The company has bought a DC-645 multi finisher, which can slit, cut and crease digitally printed work in a single pass.
Cheshire-based PS2 currently runs a Xeikon 5000, a Nexpress and an M700 digital, alongside a Heidelberg PM52 lithographic machine.
Production director Peter Lewis said the company is currently concentrating on shorter-run work, producing products such as wedding stationery and business cards.
He said: "We have really developed our online abilities and that has really taken off – it is bringing in considerable work.
"Finishing is always the bottleneck. Our print is very fast, our studio is very fast, but invariably the finishing process is a little more manual. That is why we invested in streamlining the finishing department."
He added that the Duplo kit's ability to identify and adjust to job sizes was an added bonus.
The company, which was formed in 1995, currently employs 32 staff and has a turnover of £2.4m.
As well as its standard short-run work, the company also handles large-format jobs using a Mimaki JDS, an HP Z6100 and a Roland.
PS2 is also looking to move into the fulfilment market and Lewis said that the next investment would be in that area.
Lewis added: "We have always had the personalisation systems in place and that is why we developed the template online. People are just now realising the benefits of mailing out specifically."
PS2 buys finishing kit to match online short-run demand
Digital printer PS2 has said an increase in the use of its internet ordering service has led to an investment in new finishing kit from Duplo.
