Printable Technologies buys DirecTypeR

Printable Technologies has acquired DirecTypeR, an image personalisation software company.

California-based Printable, which provides customers with software for web-to-print and marketing personalisation, has launched a software package under the moniker FusionPro ExpressionT, which replaces the DirecTypeR brand.

The software suite, which is aimed at digital printers, comprises desktop and server versions, and can work in conjunction with, or independently of, other Printable products.

Image personalisation is increasingly used in variable data publishing (VDP) marketing campaigns, Printable claimed.

Chief executive and president Coleman Kane said: "Image personalisation is an extremely powerful marketing tool that has yet to reach its potential.

"The acquisition of DirecTypeR enables Printable to provide a total solution for our clients with a deeper integration into existing products.

"By owning this technology directly, we can create image personalisation solutions that are affordable, scalable and greatly encourage the use of VDP marketing."

Printable added that FusionPro Expression would become the "most affordable image personalisation product in the marketplace" in June, when the software will work directly with the FusionPro desktop.

According to the company, this will enable users to create full VDP campaigns using unlimited image personalisation.
