Litho Supplies will launch its range of DI presses at Print UK with the Xerox DocuColor 233DI and the Screen TruePress 544.
Although Xerox had already said it was launching the DocuColor DI at Print UK, neither firm had confirmed the deal (PrintWeek, 13 July).
"As printing goes digital we need to have a DI press," said Litho Supplies joint managing director Gerry Mulvaney.
"It builds on the relationship we already have," said Kevin ODonnell, Xerox UK product marketing manager DocuColor. "Its very complementary to both companies products."
Litho Supplies will handle the consumables for its and Xerox customers. Installation and service of the presses will be carried out by Presstek, which was behind the development of the DocuColor DI range.
Both firms are in discussion with potential clients for the DocuColor DI and hope to be able to announce details of the first users at the show.
"I see the TruePress as complementing the Xerox range," said Mulvaney.
"TruePress is aimed at smaller printers and repro houses. Litho Supplies has that market at its fingertips," said Screen UK managing director Brian Filler.
This years Print UK will have a very large digital print focus, with new products from Indigo and Heidelberg as well as the Xerox machines. There will also be digital and DI presses from Ryobi and Canon.
"Theres no doubt Print UK is a digital print show," said Mulvaney. "Weve had computer-to-film and computer-to-plate, now is the time for computer-to-press."
