The firm, formerly a Kall Kwik franchise, will use the new equipment to finish jobs from its four Canon 3200 digital printers.
The Crease Matic, which along with the PF-P330 was supplied by Ashgate Automation, uses a matrix style crease to prevent the cracking of toner and inks. It has a programmable memory for five typical jobs, each of which can include up to nine folds.
Proprietor Rob Exton said that in the last three years business had more than tripled, following a change from litho to digital to meet the demand for short-run, quick turnaround colour printing.
"The combination of the Crease Matic and Horizon folder has transformed our handling of digital stock," said Exton. "They're also very easy to use."
Print by Design is now more than 70% digital, and consequently the firm needed to re-equip its digital print finishing de-partment to handle the expansion.
